Not just for chickens
Date:March 23, 2012
I think they work great ,but not ( in my case ) for chickens. I have a rabbit farm and all my fryer rabbits go into a run where there may be 40-50 at a time in there and before they would waste so much food. So I bought one of these to try ,and they are great. they can't get in there and kick it all out nor can they get in there and poo in it. I just hang it about 1-2 inches off the ground. I will be getting me another .

Works great
Date:December 23, 2010
I initially balked at the price of these, considering that they are plastic. I tried one, and liked it so well that I bought 2 more! I hang them up to reduce feed waste and they work great for me.
Use caution hanging them with small chicks though. One time an 8-week old chick got part of her chin caught on the plastic fingers that stick out into the feeding area and she was stuck there hanging by her head! I simply lowered the feeders and problem solved. It was not enough of a problem for me to consider discontinuing use of them.

I used over twice as much feed when I had the regular ground feeders. It really cuts down on wasted feed.

Decent and Durable for Price
Date:February 5, 2010
This feeder holds up well over the last year that we've owned it however there are two small caveats.
1 - Every once in awhile a chicken will gets its beak wedged between the white posts and the bottom
2 - If using something with a finer powder (like crumbles) and you need to disassemble to clean the slots for reassembling are gummed up and must be cleaned out before reassembly.
