Description
Every solid fuel stove loses a large amount of heat through the chimney and flue. The United States Stove Miracle Heat 6 in. Heat Reclaimer is designed to get a large portion of this heat back. Installs into a 12 in. section of the stove pipe just above the stove. It has an integrated thermo disk that senses the heat in the chimney. Once hot, the quiet fan blows air through the heat exchanger and brings an extra 10% of the heat loss back into the room.

We have had this unit for about 8 years.
It has been used on two different cast iron stoves and now we have it on our Soap Stone stove.
We have it intalled 2 feet above the stove top.
It reclaims a lot of heat that otherwise would just go out the chimney. It depends on how hot you burn your stove as to how long it will stay running due to the temp sensor, which works great. The fan is very quiet.
For those that say their chimney creosotes up, maybe your wood is not cured and dry. Of course you can always expect your chimney to creosote some.
I am going to buy another one just to have on hand when this one does quit working.

I would not recommend this unit to any one.To me the spot welds are vary small and cheep and the fan well you got to be closer then four foot to feel the fan blowing and if my stove is on low the fan only runs for ten seconds and shuts off for 50 seconds. I get a lot more heat from a 20 inch box fan behind the stove pipe then i do this thing.

This heat exchanger plugs easily. I clean mine yearly. the BIG problem is if you do not have it plugged in! ! !
You will burn it up - QUICKLY .... and that's all she wrote!
Parts ? ? ? ? ? forget it ! !!!!!!
TSC will likely scavange one for you and in Hillsdale, they are VERY accommodating!
A large fan - pointed at the base of the heater works better and so much cheaper.

The Single Most Worthwhile Heating Investment

I'm not going to lie, this one addition has brought peace of mind, family comfort and an overall "cozy" feeling to our home! This unit sounds much like the gentle hum of your dear sweet grandmother from the days when you were ill and she sat near by to nurse you back to health. Not only does it save by reclaiming 75% of your other wise lost heat (my estimate...after all this is my review!), but it also truly brings peace of mind knowing that all that time spent cutting, splitting, stacking, carrying and lighting firewood has blossomed into this wonderful sense of warmth that you know deep down inside will blanket your loved ones with a tangible sense of your love and provision for them. Trust me, when your children grow up and you grow old and they must care for you, you are going to wish that you had bought one of these to keep them warm when they were young!! Go ahead, buy one. Buy two and make a lifelong friend by giving them the other one!!!
