To the Bad Reviewers:
Date:December 22, 2011
I bought this stove 3 winters ago and I love it. I'm glad I didn't read the uninformed bad reviews on this site before making my purchase.
1) To the people complaining that the stove isn't 'air-tight' and that it 'blows smoke in your home':
Stoves aren't supposed to be air-tight. Your chimney isn't air-tight either. You see, to create what's known as 'fire', you must have oxygen, fuel, and a source of ignition. The key word in that last sentence is OXYGEN. The reason your stove is 'blowing smoke' is not because the chimney isn't 'air-tight', but because your chimney isn't installed properly and you don't have a good draft, causing this (and ALL) stoves to draft backwards in to your home. Fix your chimney so that it drafts properly. Crack open a nearby window. Light some paper in your flue to heat your stovepipe. There are many fixes to this issue that don't involve berating a product that you clearly know nothing about.
2) To the people complaining that they couldn't 'shut the stove down overnight':
You can close the vent on the door and the front grill the majority of the way. Do this and put another UNCUT log on the fire for the night. The next morning you will wake up to a nice bed of coal which you can just add another log to. I've done this multiple winters in Arkansas where it drops below 0 frequently.
3) To the people saying the stove will 'burn for 4 hours' and 'die out overnight':
What did you expect? A log costs between $0 (if you gather it yourself) to maybe 20 cents? Did you expect to heat your home for 20 cents? Did you expect a small piece of wood to burn for 8 hours? I suspect the main problem here is laziness. Load the stove up before bed and then try waking up before noon and the coals will still be warm enough to where you don't have to start a fire from scratch.

not air tight
Date:November 11, 2011
Its a good stove if your not serious about heating a house or even a room. Its not air tight so the wood burns fast and its too small to heat a house or anything if you are going to be away 8 hrs at a time or sleep. it burns about 4 hrs. wish I could get my mony back.

Installed this stove before last winter, previously used 4-500 gallons fuel oil each winter - last year 30 gallons. Does leak air, does not smoke if you remember to open flue damper before opening door. Installed in finished basement, heats first floor fine. Traditional wood stove, not real pretty but works fine.
