3 bad blowers in 3 years
Date:March 26, 2012
First, this furnace does heat our 2400 sq ft, 200 year old drafty house. So for that I gave it a couple of stars. Now for the bad parts.
When I first received the furnace, I had to use metal backed tape to seal all of the seams on the front of it to keep the hot air from blowing out. Obviously I wanted the majority of the hot air to blow through my air ducts. This was EXTREMELY annoying. For year 2, I used JB WELD and sealed all of the seams for a nicer appearance.
My first blower went bad after approximately 6 months. I called US Stove Company and they sent me a replacement, no problem. I chalked that up to just a bad motor and it could happen to anyone. However this year, both blowers (the one replacement + the one original) went bad and I had to buy 2 blowers. I did find a place that had the same blowers for $50 cheaper than US Stove Company, however, if you have to replace a blower every year, that is an extra $200 each year to the price of the furnace.
If the blowers go bad again next winter, I will be looking for a replacement and it won't be a Clayton or any model made by US Stove Company.

Fantastic wood stove!!!
Date:August 19, 2010
We bought this stove a few ago. My husband was very hesitant, but as we needed a new wood stove we had to get one asap. He says it is a great stove that heats and circulates very good and would have no problems buying another one. It is also easy to get large pieces of wood in and will burn for a good while.
