Dissapointingly non compatable with other openers
Date:February 16, 2010
I like most of you bought the 2 button opener thinking I could get it to open more than one device. I have a 3 car garage and a Mighty Mule FM200 driveway gate so I'm trying to leave room on my sun visors for all the openers.
This device is NOT programable to open other manufacturers devices, and will not explain the frequencies it can work on, or how to set up dip switches to open other manufacturers openers.
In classic Mighty Mule style you have to buy something another piece of equipment to do that.
I can't find it at TSC, but Mighty Mule sells some kind of "signal converter" that will recieve the signal from your dual button transmitter, then interpret that signal to send a signal to your other opener (like Genie, Chamberlin, etc.)
This is not advertised, nor evident on the box, but found in some miniscule text of the instructions. These kind of surprises cost more money and time to solve that I don't have.
I really don't want to call Mighty Mule and wait the typical 30 minuted the technical support line takes to find out how to program the second button to talk to the signal converting device either.
