Saving labor and material
Date:August 23, 2010
This simple gate wheel is one if the best inexpensive money and labor saver I have on the Ranch, Here on Shallow Creek Ranch we have them on all of our gates, they don't take long to install and then they take a load off the weight of the gate no more worries about gate sag and that is a labor saver and a money saver when moving allot of animals. I would certainly recommend them to any one with a large cattle holding area.

I bought this wheel to help with a 14' economy tube gate that was sagging. Not paying attention I found it wouldn't fit my application.
My gate was sagging enough that the gate latch didn't line up so I thought this would fix it.
My gate is still a good 8-12" off the ground. I didn't pay attention to the picture but you can see your gate has to be only a few inches off the ground to help.
Returned and got my money back no problem.
Also note to Mighty Mule gate opener owners: Mighty Mule says strictly NO WHEELS on gates with automatic openers.

Well worth the money

I bought one of these gate wheels because my tube gate was sagging a little and was digging into the ground about half way open. With this wheel installed there is no more dragging and even if the grandkids climb over the gate I don't have to worry about it sagging. I liked this product so much I bought a second one and if the store hadn't run out the day I went to purchase the second one I would have bought a couple more and put them on all my gates. The cost was reasonable. And assembly only took a couple of minutes. I would also suggest if you purchase one of these you might also want to look at the Autolatches. You just pull the gate and the latch catches a pin you add to gate and keeps it closed. It also has a place to run a lock through to help deter criminals from stealing.

It worked once, almost

Don't waste time or money with this. Put it on the gate opened 3/4 of the way and the wheel fell off. Cheap snap ring + shallow groove = zero holding ability. Will return next time I'm i town.
