Nutrena® Life Design® Mare & Foal Horse Feed is specially formulated to meet the increased nutrient requirements of the broodmare during gestation and lactation. And as your young horse grows, Life Design® Mare & Foal horse feed is there, too - providing a careful balance of amino acids, protein and minerals to promote optimum development during its formative years.

• Feed to mares during the last 1/2 of pregnancy to promote healthy prenatal development
• Same feed for mare and foal allows for an easy transition at weaning time
• Formulated for proper growth of foal through the second year
• Highly palatable pellet promotes consistent intake and prevents sorting of ingredients
• Guaranteed levels of biotin to support muscle, hair coat and hoof development

The mares in my care love this feed!

Over the years I have tried many other types & brands of feed and will stay with the Nutrena formulas, especially the Mare & Foal. Hard keepers maintain weight thru pregnancy & produce quality milk for their foals & yearlings continue to have good growth. I will follow the instructions & stick with the program. Good product that I highly recommend.

my filly always eats this product, she's a fussy eater and doesn't eat many feeds

I had purchased a very thin mare from a auction. Using safe choice I gradually brought up her weight. When I discovered she was infoal I changed her over to mare and foal. The result was a very healthy foal of good weight. The filly is now a weanling and continous on mare and foal. I did have to switch her to a different feed when mare and foal was not available at my feed store. She pushed it around in her bucket but really did not seem to eat it as well as her usual feed. Now I preorder and have her back on her usual feed.

AMAZING results!!!!

I have always fed a popular brand ration balancer, especially to my horses underweight, with an added fat supplement. But I have had a hard time purchasing it locally and decided to take a local breeder and close friend's advice to try Nutrena. In June 2011, I had my 19 year old half arabian mare boarded out and she injured her mouth, causing a drastic weight loss. I brought her home and put her on Life Design mare and foal. She is currently in foal with her weight staying where it needs to be. Because it is working so well, I am feeding it along with the Triumph senior complete to an under weight gelding I just rescued. He has been here only a week, and there is already a weight gain difference. He really did not seem to have an appetite at first, but now he loves his feedings when he gets them and eats it all. This is a GREAT feed and I plan to continuing to use it!

Great feed!

My Appaloosa mare has been on Safe Choice for years. I switcher her to this feed during her pregnancy. Now her and her 4 month old filly are lovin it. Both have a beautiful sheen to them and are happy and healthy on this feed.
