Good to Have on Hand
Date:March 17, 2010
All horse owners should keep injectable penicillin on hand. Most horse vets will have you administer to your horse in case of cuts or minor infections, so the medicine can start working while you are waiting for your vet appointment. Always call your vet first! A drawback to large size, multi-dose containers - the stopper loses its air-tight seal with multiple punctures to draw doses, leading to potential contamination.
