Nutrena® Life Design® Prime is the ideal feed for your mature horse when it is still actively competing but no longer requires the high energy level of Life Design® Compete horse feed. Protein, mineral and vitamin levels are specially formulated to maintain the condition and performance of your horse throughout the prime of its life.

My mare is excited about eating again!

After switching my mare from a sweet feed at the local feed store to their pelleted feed she was not very excited about feeding time. Then several months ago I started feeding her Nutrena Stock & Stable because of the cost. She still wasn't eating too well. Last month I decided to try Life Design Prime. She LOVES it! She is excited when she sees me coming to feed again & will even eat the supplements I give her mixed in with her feed at night. Before she would leave alot of her supplement & not eat it. I am very happy to find a feed she will eat again & is doing so well on. Will definately reccomend this product.

great food for the price

just switched to PRIME. i was really feeling the cost of feeding this winter with it so wet and windy where my horses are. i have a fat gelding but my rescue mustang and hard keeper mare it felt like they were eating me out of paycheck. and with grain prices constantly going up. $5 a bag in a year, i had to change feeds. i bought prime because it had nearly the same nutritional numbers of the safe and sound, and was $5 cheaper along with being a 50 lb bag and not a 40 lb bag. My horses look great, and i'm about to lower feed amounts to the gelding and mustang. and the mare is at a good weight. I'll probably lower her in about two weeks after a few more freezes. just to bring into frame, my horses were up to a bag of feed every 3-4 days, with alfalfa pellets, and they have constant hay. i've been able to cut the alfalfa pellets saving about a bag of that a week, and i'm to a bag of PRIME every 5 days, soon to get more time when i lower my boys. 4 bags a month sound so much better than the 12!!! i was doing. THANKS FOR KEEPING PRICES AT A REASONABLE PRICE AND A 50 LB BAG!!!

Nutrena prime is a good maintenence feed

My QH is 18 y/o and I started him on Nutrena feed last year during his first winter with me. He began to drop weight so I tried putting him on Nutrena senior, which I love! It put the weight back on him, and he loved it. I had to switch to prime due to price unfortunately. It's the most comparable to the senior as far as ingredients go, but appears rather bland. My horse will eat it, but he's not crazy about it. As far as nutritional needs goes. I suppose it meets his needs. I WAS glad to see that Nutrena came out with a more affordable feed that was comparable to what he was used to eating though.
