Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth Every Penny!!! This stove is the best purchase I have made in a long time. This is my first pellet stove. Last years oil prices convinced me it was time to start burning pellets. I had wanted to buy a pellet stove from a dealer and have it installed however I decided to go the do it yourself route. So glad I did. This stove was a breeze to install. I compared several pellet stoves to this one and conducted tons of research but in the end the VG5770 won hands down. This stove PERFORMS! lots of heat output on the lower settings. It has 5 heat settings but I only need to run it on level 1 and 2 to heat my 1,600 sq. ft. 2-story farm house. If I need to pump some heat quickly I run it on 3 until I get the house temp where I want it, then I will drop it to level 1 to maintain. This Stove heats my entire house, both floors, evenly. I have it in my dining room and that room tends to get a little hot but we rarely are in that room anyway. 78 degrees in my dining room (the stove room), 72 throughout the rest of the house, even upstairs!!! We originally wanted to install it in our living room but are glad we didn't. It would have cooked us out of there! The blower noise is actually surprisingly quiet. Since it is a top-loader you will get the sound of pellets dropping into the burn pot, but this is not bothersome either. You really can't beat this stove. Super easy to clean and operate. I can highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent features and price We have a cottage and needed to add a different heating source in a room with no other heat. I picked this pellet stove for many reasons .. First is price.. you can not find this stove anywhere, not even form the company that makes them, at this price! Tractor Supply was the least expensive by as much as $400 in some cases. Second... electronic start.. always a plus! Third... remote electronic start makes it even better! Fourth.... 40 pound hopper capacity is one bag...some do come with a much bigger capacity but this works very well for us. Fifth...slimline... 20" wide by 20" deep is a huge help.... remember I said cottage? We are less than 1000 sq ft. Space is a premium. Sixth... covers 2000 sq ft......We live in NY state on the lake and I hate being cold!!!! A great pellet stove at any price... LIZ

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Stove Rocks!!! I bought this stove about a week ago. Installation was fast and easy. I would suggest that you "dry" run the unit first before adding pellets. I didn't and had to empty the pellets since the auger was not turning. Come to find out, an Allen wrench was caught in the auger and stopped it from moving. Must have happened at the store. No big deal. Removed the Allen wrench, refilled the hopper and BAM it took right off. We have a 2,600 SQFT house and it heats very nicely but it's only 48 degrees outside so the real test is in the dead of winter. I also would suggest that when starting up, since your automatically using the mode level setting (startup mode), turn the mode setting up to the highest setting (5) if you intend to switch to thermostat mode. Once the startup is complete and you switch to thermostat mode the feed will stay at a level 1 and take much more time to reach the desired set point. Where as if you had the level set at 5, once the desired set point was close (2 degrees) the level will automatically change to meet your temperature set point. Once again, the difference is how fast the desired set point will be reached once the thermostat mode selection is made. The pipe installation kit was easy to install and robust. The adapter doesn't fit though, loose fit but I bought a 45 degree adapter from Menards to offset the stove. Great value, easy clean up (clean the glass daily) and empty the ashes weekly. Get a small flat ash tray for under the front door and clean up is even easier. Running on average 20 pounds a day at 73 degrees or level one. Remember this is fall in Michigan though. Bring on Mr. Winter.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Still deciding... I bought this model a month ago and it really hasn't been put to the test. I chose it primarily for the price and had many features of a more expensive unit. Plus I felt it would be a good unit for my application. The folks at Tractor Supply were very helpful and the installation was easy. It heats the immediate area where it is installed which is what I wanted but hasn't been run enough to tell if it will reach other parts of the house. It seems to need to be cleaned often, I vacuum it regularly, and the glass does not stay clean. This is my first experience with a pellet stove so it might be normal. Might also be related to the damper adjustment which I haven't done much with. I expect things will work out and I will be pleased with this stove but at this time I'm still deciding.
