Standlee Premium Western Forage Premium Beet Pulp Pellets are high-density 1/4 inch pellets formed from dried sugar beet pulp. Beet Pulp is the pulp that remains after sugar has been removed from the sugar beet. A high calorie, low protein, low sugar fiber source for horses.

Ingredients:
Beet pulp (dried), Concentrated Separator By-Product. (Concentrated Separator By-Product or CSB is a secondary molasses produced during the separation of sugar from normal sugar beet molasses.)

Feeding Directions:
Standlee Beet Pulp is a high calorie fiber source for horses. Beet Pulp can be fed to mature horses at a rate of 0.05 to 0.2% of body weight/day depending on level of activity. For a 1000 lb. horse, this equates up to 2 lb. of dry beet pulp per day. Gradually introduce beet pulp into the diet during a 7 to 10 day period. Beet Pulp is a dehydrated product and is recommended to be soaked (completely submerged) in water for a minimum of 15 minutes and a maximum of 30 minutes prior to feeding, or until properly softened. Never feed moldy or insect infested beet pulp to horses. Always provide free-access to fresh, clean water. If you have questions, please contact the nutritionists at Standlee Premium Western Forage™, or consult with your veterinarian.

Standlee Premium Western Forage Premium Beet Pulp Pellets, 40 lb. is rated 4.4167 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use / LOW molasses Molasses is added to the beet pulp process so the beet pulp does not go bad; however, when you have horses that can LOOK at grass and get fat, you need to monitor all of their caloric intake. I chose Standlee Beet Pulp Pellets based on their reputation as well as their low molasses content. The molasses added for the production of beet pulp is LESS than what is found in most beet pulp shreds. The bag was well manufactured, and the pellets were easy to use and store. Both of my horses flourish on the beet pulp pellets, and although I still monitor their caloric intake, I have a sound mind knowing the added molasses is minimal. Remember to soak these in warm water before using for easier chewing/more palatable for animals.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product I needed to put weight on my mare. Started feeding her 1 1/2 pounds in the AM and PM. Watered down ofcourse. She's putting on weight like a champ, totally recommend this. Should have done this sooner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This helped my older quarter horse gain weight. I soak a feed scoop worth in about 2 gallons of warm (not hot) water in a large pickle bucket till the pellets are fully expanded and have soaked up all the water, takes about 45 min, once a day. I also feed a nice quality grain feed at the same time. My older quarter horse mare needed weight put on her when she came to us and this beet suppliment was recommended to us by a TSC employee. She loves it with her grain and eats it first if she can nibble any that isn't mixed completely in with her feed. The bulk of it allows her to take her time finishing it as she's a very slow eater. The beet pulp enabled her to actually gain weight over her first winter with us. Though this product is heavy and kinda messy when fully engorged with water I would still recommend it to help put weight on a thinner horse.
