Hobart Handler® 140 MIG Welder is rated 4.94 out of 5 by 50.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great welder Very good welder. I have used welders that cost 5 times as much, and the build quality is the same. Using 110, it is not for very heavy welding, but with a few passes, you would be surprised at the results. Make sure you plug it into at least a 15 amp circuit, 20 would be ideal. You will be glad you spent the extra money on a Hobart.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handles everything I've needed to weld I purchased this welder to use in the restoration of an old truck and muscle car. So far I have had great results from sheetmetal to frame repair!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy and Versatile I purchased my Hobart 140 approximately 2.5 years ago I believe and have enjoyed putting it to use many times since then. I build Jeeps and rock crawling vehicles as a hobby and my most recent project included a vehicle where I built a custom roll cage, extended the factory frame, built custom suspension mounting points, swapped axles from a different vehicle, and patched rust spots on the body. When I first started on this vehicle I was still using the flux core wire. This wire is great for use outdoors and for portability of the welder itself. You don't have to take a cylinder of mixing gas with you to the trail! I swapped over to mixing gas and solid core wire to reduce the amount of time spent cleaning welds. This welder comes with everything you need to get started and is definitely capable of its 1/4" ratings. I have never had an issue with the duty cycle preventing me from finishing a weld either. I would recommend this unit to anyone that needs a welder that is easy to use and VERY reliable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Buy I have worked as a Welder for over 25 years. I am also a Ceritifed Welding Inspector and teach at the local Junior College. We just bought 10 of this model for uses in a Hobby Shop Class. 5 are set up for gas and 5 for gasless. I have had my own shop for many years with all types of welding equipment . Before I comment on any piece of equipment I always check it out myself. For it's size and voltage (110 )this welder works quit well. I find it excellent for railing and small equipment.(lawnmowers and around the house stuff) I think that taking a class would truly help those who are first time welders. I have convinced many students to take a look at this welder and to try mine out first before they buy. Compare and you will buy one from TSC.
