Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply the best My husband and I bought this tratcor this past spring and have two acres to mow. Some is level but a lot of our land is not level and this tractor does a wonderful job on it all. The steering is great as well! We have put over 60 hours on it this year and it has given us absolutely no trouble what so ever. Runs as good as the day we bought it. We couldn't be more satisfied. I read in a previous review that they didn't like the back up safety feature and had to hold a button to back up...this is not so. All you have to do is when you start your mower be sure to turn it back to the yellow middle key postion and press the yellow caution button and a light will come on and that means you are ready to mow fowards and backwards without doing anything at all! This tractor mows great in high thick grass with ease, turns on a dime, pulls up hill with ease, good on gas, oil is easy to change, comfortable ride for everyone with easy seat adjustment to fit your hieght and the deck wash feature is easy to do and works great!Everyone in my family has a riding mower some have John Deer, some Southern States, some Husquvarana and one has a Troy Built and they all just had to try ours out on our land and all say ours is ten times a better lawn mower not to mention they ALL have had to work on their rather new mowers more than once with pricey repairs! Two of them sold theirs and got a Cub after we bought ours and are just as impressed with theirs. I researched mowers for months and glad i did because we LOVE our Cub Cadet!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LTX 1046VT I got this riding mower of all things for my birthday, it was what I wanted. I purchased it on the 20th of July 2010 at Tractor Supply, Victoria, TX. This rider replaced my MTD with nearly 20 years of age. The "V" Twin power of the Briggs & Stratton engine is plenty sufficient to cut grass higher than recommended. My main reason for buying a Cub was the fact you can back up without going through a lot of trouble such as cutting off the PTO (blades) in order to do so. Also, the grass clippings being ejected from the deck housing does not clump as does some mowers, it shoots the grass out where when in thick grass you can double cut as an option to where there is nothing left. Another big plus that some mowers didn't have is the grease fittings. They are on the front end. The cutting blades each have a grease fitting on each blade, plus the two front support wheels on the cutting deck. I must add that I'm not a firm believer in the wash port for the deck as my prior experience in washing the deck causes premature failure of the bearings and rusting of the deck assembly. But, with the setup this mower has (the ability for each blade housing to be greased) this option may be useful in washing wet grass out and the failures I mentioned probably won't be a problem. I still believe it's best not to cut wet grass at any time. The turning radius is very nice, it's the tightest (12") of any thing I had looked at buying, most were 14". One thing to note though, turning tight in moist grass may plow the front wheels instead of turning, there again, dry grass should be cut, not wet as this is not an issue in the dry. I did have to adjust the deck level, it was off side to side but correct front to rear. Other than adjusting the deck, checking the tire pressures (since they seem to air them up to a higher pressure for shipping), greasing all fittings prior to use, checking the oil and adding fuel, that was all the prep work needed. I don't particularly like all the safety switches that are on today tractor's but everyones got them now. I wish the industry would let us dictate how much safety is on them but I understand why it's done. This is just a preference note. One last thing to add, with an electric PTO for the cutting blades, there is no slack in the belt for engagement, it doesn't "squeal" when you engage the cutting deck. I'm looking forward to a long life with this mower. I mow 1.5 acres of yard about every 7-10 days, I was really disappointed when I was finished, I was looking for more to mow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Cub rules I love this Cub Cadet more than my dogs. It does such a nice job on my lawn, that I shot my goat. JK - however, I am ready to get rid of my push mower. This is my first riding lawn mower, and I debated between this and a John Deere. My father is a Deere man, and tried steering me that way. I'm glad that I went with the Cub - it's easy to maneuver, maintain and store. It's a big decision and I feel I made the right one.
