County Line 25-Gal Sprayer
Date:April 25, 2012
Well, I finally broke down and bought a pull-behind sprayer. I read the reviews and decided that no product can please everyone, but this one looked pretty good.
Assembly went smoothly. In spite of some of the reviews, all the hardware was there and it wasn't hard to figure out what went where. Getting the spray bar into the plastic holder took a little effort - I'd suggest using a C-clamp to hold one end in place while you lever the other into the clamp. Otherwise, one end pops out when you put the other one in. Make sure you have some teflon tape to put on the threads of the pressure gauge - or you'll have to make a hardware store run. I ran a couple of tanks of water through it before I sprayed for real. You'll go a lot slower than you think you should - 1 MPH is real slow. It sprays well - no leaks.
Now - the "Oh - by - the - ways".
1. The wiring is really flimsy. I caught my foot in it and ripped the wire out of the fuse holder. I'm going to wire the SAE connector to the battery terminals and use a piece of extension cord wire for the hookup. Take some time to figure out a way to tie the wiring down - or you'll end up dragging it under a wheel. I'll also use the headlight switch on the tractor to control ON/OFF. Reaching behind you for the switch on the cord is a pain when you're spraying.
2. The spray wand works well - but the hose is just about the exact wrong length. There seems to be no way to stow the spray wand and not have a loop of hose dragging on a wheel, I haven't figured out just what to do yet.
3. Watch the recirculating hose. It doesn't go very far into the tank and it can flip out and give you a bath in weed spray. Kind of like getting sprayed by a skunk.
Nothing is perfect, but so far this is pretty good. I'm going to watch the pump motor closely and I won't hesitate to use the 1-year warranty if it craps out. (I wrote purchase date on the plastic tank in permanent marker as a reminder). 4 stars out of 5 ain't bad.

Great Purchase

Assemby was easy on both units have target sprayed and cleaned unit, have went a step further mounted a separate battery to front of unit and found that i could keep wires off ground with a tender holding switch high enough to reach. Only problem is the springs inside pump deteriate quickly that hold the brushes against the armature of the pump motor, I am in process of finding a source for them but both units work great for a few months ten bang no pump, and you need some mojo to figure how to reinstall electric motor cap with brushes compressed followed the mix instructions with chemicals and all has gone well except for pump motor failure and wiring getting fouled in tractor wheels .....

Not Happy with Purchase
Date:March 27, 2012
I received my sprayer Christmas 2009, and was very happy with it until last fall when it killed several hundred feet of my lawn. I was using vegetation killer and apparently pulled on the hose which unscrewed the fittings near the pump causing a leak. Sprayer manufacturer provided the newly redesigned “H” fitting which bolts to the tank solving the issue which killed my lawn. Last weekend I filled the sprayer with weed killer and observed a major leak at the gauge port. In order to use the sprayer, I plugged the gauge port with epoxy and toothpicks. Manufacturer is sending a new “H” fitting as the first assembly replacement I received had a design issue causing it to crack.
