3 point is the way to Go!

This tiller was easy to as assemble, works great, it is quiet, smooth and leaves real nice puffy soil. Quality, fit and finish seems typical of medium duty products--not great but acceptible. My concern is the low cutting depth of the new models built by Tarter. The owners manual says adjustable working depth of 1 -4". I thought this seemed low as most other brand tillers are rated at 7 or 8". I called Tarter and they confirmed that 4' was the max tilling depth. I don't know if that is really enough for garden work. Otherwise it is worth a look... Mike

Very pleased - a great purchase

There's a bit of a problem with this device - it'll do the job so quickly, you may have trouble finding enough ground to till. What took me hours before now takes minutes. I'm putting in another garden.
The 72" tiller is a very sturdy piece of equipment. I've had it two weeks and am glad I purchased it.
On a serious note, check the clearance between the implement and its lower pins (where the lower arms of your tractor's 3-point hitch attach to the tiller). It was too tight for my tractor to connect, which I figured out after I got the 900 pound unit home. So I had to have a welder move the pins out away from the implement. Do yourself a favor and check before you buy. (I rated it 4-stars instead of 5 because of my clearance issue.)
You'll need two gallons of gear oil (the manual tells you what type to purchase, but not how much) and one stick of grease for the universal joints on the PTO shaft.

TSC/Tarter 72" Tiller
Date:August 12, 2011
Best deal I could find on a 6 foot tiller. Slip clutch is optional on most brands. Standard on this brand. Assembly was easy and went fast. I wish they specified the amount of gear oil required. I had to return to the store for another bottle. I was told 2, so I bought 3. It took almost 4 bottles to fill both gear boxes. No length adjustment required for the PTO. Fit my Kubota L3240 at factory length. I ended up adjusting the skates to the top most position to get the desired depth. Once adjusted it turned the soil into a nice fluffy mix. This unit covers the full width of my R4 tires so no compacted soil. The tractor's 32HP turns this tiller just fine. No bogging or slowdown. Keep your forward speed slow and steady. Use cruise if you have it.

Amazing piece of equipment
Date:March 15, 2011
Ive spent many a day, week and months riding tractors in fields in Tenn. plowing, and disking as a child. I was raised on a 215 acre working farm. Now I have my own farm but if I would have had this tiller back then the months would have only been weeks on the tractors. I just put in a garden with this tiller in 20 to 30 minutes. 40 by 60 feet, simply amazing!!!! plus im starting an orchard this year too. I have a ford 3610 diesel 47 hp. It pulls the tiller at about half throttle in 1st gear. Roots and rocks dont have a chance!!! My tractor is 6 ft wide is why I went with the 72 in. tiller to cover the tracks of my back tires. I just cant say enough about this tiller I love it and what a time saver!!!!
