Feed requirements to maintain body condition may vary considerably due to individual differences. Use a weight tape and regular body condition scoring to make sure the horse is maintaining the desired condition. Pay close attention to actual body conditions when horses have longer hair coats. Feeding Instructions (fed with hay): Maintenance 0.5-0.75 (lb. feed/100 lb. BW), Light/Medium Exercise 0.75-1.0 (lb. feed/100 lb. BW). Feeding Instructions (no hay fed): Maintenance 1.2-1.5 (lb. feed/100 lb. BW), Light/Medium Exercise 1.4-1.75 (lb. feed/100 lb. BW).
